Swimming Pools

In pool operation, most complaints come not from chlorine itself but from its by-products. On-site generation strengthens disinfection while reducing by-products.

Swimming Pools
FIG. 02 Swimming Pools

In indoor pools: a sharp odour, eye and skin irritation in swimmers, constant chemical transport and storage — the familiar picture of classic hypochlorite dosing. The source of the problems is not disinfection itself, but excess dose and chloramines.

What on-site generation means at the pool

NIMBUS produces hypochlorous acid from salt in the pool plant room and doses it into the circulation line on demand. Higher biocidal efficacy at the same free-chlorine level means being able to operate at a lower total chlorine in practice; chloramine formation and the associated odour and irritation complaints drop markedly.

Carrying hypochlorite drums, keeping an acid-chlorine store and the risk of expired chemicals all disappear. The operating input is nothing more than salt and electricity.

Scope

Hotel and resort pools, residential and sports-facility pools, aquaparks, spa and thermal operations. Compact tier for single-pool sites, standard/industrial tiers for multi-pool operations; dosing is applied to each pool’s circulation line separately.

Impact on operations

The chemical-purchasing line largely closes, hazardous-material storage requirements disappear and the frequency of water changes falls. Because system data is monitored remotely, opening and closing procedures for seasonal operations are simplified too.

Frequently asked questions

Do chlorine odour and eye irritation really decrease?

Yes. The main source of odour and irritation is not free chlorine but chloramines (combined chlorine). Because hypochlorous acid dosing delivers the same disinfecting power at a lower total-chlorine level, chloramine formation drops significantly.

Does it integrate with my existing pool automation?

NIMBUS works with standard redox/free-chlorine measurement and dosing automation; it integrates into your existing measurement panel or is installed with its own measurement unit.

Is it compliant with pool-water regulations?

The free and combined chlorine limits in pool-water regulations apply equally to electrolysis-derived active chlorine, and the system doses within those limits.
